Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet town that is located in the West Island, which is part of Montreal's island. A lot of people who aren't aware of they mistakenly believe they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. In fact, the West Island includes everything westward from that city Lachine. Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently mentioned, but her brief stay did not last long. Brugel became an aspiring young lady living in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. She wanted to become a professional dancer but due to a rapid increase in her height, she outgrew all of her dancing partners. In a recent interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels I'm 6 feet and 1 inch." When I outgrew my male friends, I quit. The Brugel is one of the former dancers who shifted to acting. Her teacher from high school was what pushed her to take the next step. She was a teacher at the time who advised her to take on a part in the annual school production. The student tried it out, and ended up playing the role of the main character for the role in Anne of Green Gables. This led to an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program which she graduated with an Associate of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. The career of Brugel spans more than twenty years, and she's been in over 60 productions, both on big screens and on smaller ones. Her most notable role was as Rita (pictured beneath) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor during Season 1 of the series and only appeared on occasion.
